7 Day Kilimanjaro climb via Lemosho Route
7-Day Kilimanjaro climb via Lemosho Route is the beautiful route to trek Mt. Kilimanjaro, it approaches the Mountain from the western side, it’s less populated and easy to climb compared to the rest of the routes. On the first and second days, the hiking trail is gentle passing through the mountain rain forest that makes climbing easier. Some climbers hike even for 6 days, but it’s highly recommended to 7/8 days. The route is good for acclimatization and it’s in favor even for children and the old people, successful summit chance is above 90%.
Tour type: Climbing Kilimanjaro can be done as family, private group, open group joining or sole climber. After climbing Kilimanjaro you can have additional couple of days for Tanzania wildlife safaris to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro crater, and the Serengeti National park or beach holidays in Zanzibar. Wildlife safari game drives range from one-day trip to multiple days’ tour.

ESSENTIAL MOUNTAIN CLIMBING GEARS
50L waterproof duffle, small-size backpack, warm clothes including trouser, sweater, thermal underwear, and enough pair of warm socks, Balaclava, snow goggles, or ski sun glasses and scarf, waterproof layers, sun roof hat, warm sleeping bag, mattress, warm jacket, and a pair of gloves. Comfort mountain boots, and walking poles, Sun cream, first aid kit, a knapsack, a pair of getters and water-bottle, minimum 2litres each.

Detailed Itinerary


Upon your arrivals at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by our office representative, followed by an hour drive to the hotel in Moshi Town. After having a short rest at the hotel, our Mountain guide will meet you to check with your climbing gears and equipment. If some gears will be missing, our guide will help you on how to rent those missing gears from the rental shops

A 3-hours private drive from hotel in Moshi to starting point, Londorosi gate. At the gate registration, payment and entrance permit process will take place while porters are sorting and weight the luggage.
After all process be done, the hike starts to the first camp, Mti Mkubwa campsite. Trail is gentle slope, and it’s passing through the rain forest. At the campsite you will have to spend the remaining time for rest, dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you will hike to Shira 2 campsite, leaving the rain forest and start approaching moorland vegetation. Gently hike across the plateau to Shira 2 camp, crossing some streams; it’s a good path for acclimatization. You will enter shira 2 camp late afternoons, spending the remaining time for rest, dinner, and overnight.

The hike continue to the high point Lava tower, a short break for acclimatization and lunch, before heading down to BarrancoVallay Camp, viewing the great Barranco Wall. The camp is crowded because it’s the hub for 3-routes (Machame, Umbwe and Lemosho route). At the camp you will have a rest, dinner and overnight.
After breakfast at Barranco camp you will have a short hike to Karanga camp, where you will spend the remaining time for hot lunch, dinner and overnight.
At barafu base camp you will have a rest, dinner and early sleeping because you will awake at mid-night for summit attempt.
Around 01:00am, guide will awake you to get well prepared with the summiting gears, warm clothes that can accommodate up to -10 degree Celsius. After all process be done, guide will slowly lead you to hike up for the summit attempt, passing through Stella point, (5685m) to Uhuru Peak (5895).
The beginning of sixth day might caught you at the peak if the weather is good, you will be able to spend couple of minutes at the peak, taking a beautiful photo while sunrises, drinking a tea on your thermal bottle before start descending down to Barafu camp.
At barafu camp you will have time to rest, before continuing to hike down to Millemium/Mweka camp for lunch, dinner and overnight.
It’s the end of 7 days Mount Kilimanjaro adventure, morning of this day you will be packing all of your stuff ready to leave the park. Crew will be organizing and sorting all stuffs for marking the end of the tour. They will be singing, celebrating, and congratulating you for a successful climb. After all that you will hike down to Mweka gate, where you will sign out the park, and receive certificates for those who made their summit attempt successfully, followed by an hour-private drive to the hotel in town, ready for rest and continuing with other schedule.
